I. JSUT Overview

        Jiangsu University of Technology (JSUT) is located in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, an ancient city with a written history of over 3,200 years. Nestled in the heart of the Yangtze River Delta, it lies halfway between the two major metropolises of Shanghai and Nanjing and is an integral part of the Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou metropolitan area. Famed for its picturesque landscapes and numerous historical sites, Changzhou is hailed as a hub of benevolence, a renowned sci-tech center, and a vital modern manufacturing base in the Yangtze River Delta. It has also been honored as a National Civilized City and an Outstanding Tourist City of China.

        JSUT is a provincial-level full-time regular institution of higher education in Jiangsu Province. It is designated as a first-class applied undergraduate university in Jiangsu, a master's degree-granting unit, and a doctoral degree development project-approval unit. The university achieved an "Excellence" rating in the undergraduate teaching assessment conducted by the Ministry of Education. It is also listed among the first batch of National Key Vocational Education Teacher Training Bases and the inaugural group of Decision-Making Consultation Research Bases in Jiangsu Province.

        Founded in 1984, JSUT has fostered a profound academic heritage over the years. Currently, it enrolls more than 23,000 full-time undergraduate students (including international students) and over 1,400 master's students. The university boasts a faculty of over 1,700 staff members, among whom nearly 800 hold senior professional titles and more than 750 possess doctoral degrees. Doctoral degree holders account for 56% of the teaching staff, while dual-qualified teachers constitute 64%. JSUT is also home to one dual-appointed member of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, two national-level talents, four recipients of the State Council Special Government Allowance, and one national-level innovative teaching team for vocational education.

       JSUT features a well-established academic discipline structure, encompassing seven major categories: Engineering, Science, Management, Economics, Literature, Arts, and Education. With a focus on engineering, the university promotes the coordinated development of multiple disciplines. It offers 65 undergraduate programs and 14 master's degree authorization programs. Notably, three disciplines—Engineering, Materials Science, and Chemistry—rank within the top 1% globally in the ESI (Essential Science Indicators) rankings.

      Adhering to an open educational philosophy, JSUT has established cooperative relationships with over 80 universities and research institutions across more than 20 countries and regions worldwide. It offers three undergraduate programs under the Ministry of Education's Sino-foreign cooperative education initiative, as well as two mutual credit recognition programs. The university is a member of international cooperation alliances such as the Sino-German University of Applied Sciences Alliance and the China-Arab Universities 10+10 Cooperation Initiative. It has also taken the lead in establishing Zheng He College, Kazakhstan and admits international students from over 40 countries along the Belt and Road.

       JSUT provides international students with well-equipped teaching buildings, comfortable dormitories, customized professional courses, and a high-caliber faculty, ensuring superior learning and living conditions. Having won numerous awards in national competitions such as the College English Speech Contest and Chinese Classic Recitation Contest, JSUT has been consecutively recognized as an Advanced Collective in International Student Education in Jiangsu Province.

Develop international students' comprehensive Chinese language skills,including listening, speaking, reading, and writing,and enhance their cross-cultural communication abilities.

III. Application Requirements

(I) Basic Requirements

1.Be non-Chinese citizens, hold valid foreign passports, be friendly to China and have no criminal record. In principle, applicants must be at least 18 years old.

2.Be in good physical and mental health, meeting the health examination standards for foreign international students in China as stipulated by Chinese regulations (students failing the physical examination upon arrival will not be registered);

3.Abide by the provisions of the law of China and the regulations of the university, and respect Chinese customs and traditions;

4.Applicants for undergraduate programs are between the ages of 18 and 25; Applicants for a master's degree must be under 30.

(II) Academic Background

1.Master's degree candidates must hold a bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification.

2.For language programs and undergraduate admission requirements, applicants must have completed high school or possess an equivalent educational qualification.

3.Applicants for the associate-to-bachelor's degree transfer program must hold a certain associate degree certificate;

4.Students majoring in economics, management, or science and engineering must have a solid foundation in mathematics, while those in arts majors should possess basic artistic skills.

(III) Language Requirements

1.Applicants applying for Chinese language instruction must provide HSK-4 certificate (score 180 or above).

2.Non-English speaking country applicants applying for English language instruction must provide proof of TOEFL or IELTS scores, with an IELTS score of 5.5 or above or a TOEFL score of 60 or above, or pass an English test organized by the school at the time of enrollment.

May 10,2026 – July 10,2026.

V. Application Process and Admission

        Step 1: Applicants must submit the following materials and pay application fee of RMB 500 by July 10,2026:

       1.Application Form for International Student of JSUT (word and PDF);

       2.For Master's Degree Applicants:

    ①Graduation certificate and bachelor's degree certificate, and academic transcripts (‌all officially stamped‌);②Research proposal (minimum 1,000 words);③Two recommendation letters covering the applicant's ‌academic capabilities and comprehensive performance‌, signed by recommender holding ‌associate professor or above.

       For Undergraduate and Language Program Applicants:

       High school diploma and academic transcripts (‌both officially stamped‌).

       For Upgrading to Undergraduate Program Applicants:

       Junior college diploma and academic transcripts (‌both officially stamped‌).

       3.Scanned copies of passport personal information page.

       4.Foreigner Physical Examination Form, uniformly printed by the Chinese health and quarantine department, must be completed in English.The form will be invalid if with incomplete items, without sealed photo of the applicant or without the signature and seal of the physician and the hospital;

       5.Recent white-background and bareheaded ID photo (digital).

       6.No criminal record.

       7.Bank certificate of deposit (at least USD 5,000).

       8.Language proficiency certificate: Applicants from non-English speaking countries who apply for English language instruction must provide the English proficiency test scores; Applicants who apply for Chinese language instruction must provide HSK-4 certificate (score 180 or above).

       9.Formal authorization from parents or guardian is required if applicants are under the age of 18, and the authorization letter should be notarized.

      10.Documents to show applicants' academic and daily performance   from school(Applicants from other universities in China have to provide the documents).

      11.Transcripts of university examinations from the country of origin (if any).

      12.The most recent visa for China or residence permission in China (if any). If the concealment of experience in China affects the enrollment and registration, applicants shall bear all consequences.

Step 2: JSUT reviews materials and arranges video or telephone interview.

Step 3: Applicants check admission status, applicants who pass the interview will receive the Pre-admission Letter.

Step 4: Prepay the accommodation fee of ¥1,500 within two weeks, and send the

scanned copy of the remittance receipt with your name and passport number to admission@jsut.edu.cn.

Step 5: Applicants check the Admission Letter, JW202 Visa Application Form, registration instructions and other emails sent by JSUT.

Step 6: Upon receiving the documents, admitted students apply for a study visa (X1 visa) at a Chinese embassy or consulate abroad, prepare to enter China, and inform JSUT of your itinerary.Within 30 days after entry, those who have not completed all registration procedures and have not applied for a study residence permit will be dismissed from the school.

Step 7: Arrive in university on time, register on the designated date according to Admission Letter.Those who fail to come to the school on the prescribed date without special circumstances will not be registered by the school.

Step 8: JSUT verify the validity of applicant's original materials and process registration procedures for qualified applicants.

Notes:

1. Anyone who fails to provide the above materials at the time of registration or the materials are false, applicants will be disqualified from enrolling in the university.

2. If the original application material is in a language other than Chinese or English, a Chinese or English translation version from an official translation agency must be attached.

The specific policies shall be implemented in accordance with the relevant regulations of Jiangsu Province.

(III) JSUT Scholarship for Advanced Language Proficiency Freshmen

One-time disbursement upon enrollment for the academic year.

(IV) JSUT Academic Scholarship for Outstanding InternationalFreshmen

Evaluated in accordance with relevant school regulations. The proportion of undergraduate students (including Upgrading to Undergraduate students) shall not exceed 30%, with a grant amount of ¥3,000. 100% coverage is provided for master's students, with a grant amount of ¥6,000.
